"Sierra Leone's First Lady to Address Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment in the United States"

Sierra Leone's First Lady, Fatima Bio, is scheduled to deliver a speech on Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment (GEWE) legislation in the United States on September 23, 2023. The venue for this event is the Royal Ambassador Banquet Hall, situated at 2863 Woodbridge Avenue, Edison, NJ 08837.

This occasion is being organized by the North America Women's Council of the Sierra Leone People's Party (SLPP) and marks their second annual conference on September 23, 2023, at the Royal Ambassador Banquet Hall in New Jersey.

Distinguished personalities, including Madam Hawa Foray, the SLPP National Women's Leader, and Dr. Isata Mahoi, the Minister of Gender, will also participate in the conference. Several Party and Government Officials are expected to be in attendance.

Aminata Amara, the SLPP North America Regional Women's Leader, has reported that dedicated committees have been established to ensure the conference's success. In addition to the daytime conference, the event will conclude with an evening victory dance, graced by the presence of President Julius Maada Bio and his wife, Fatima Bio. The celebration will also be attended by government officials, diplomats, community leaders, and friends of Sierra Leone.

The primary objective of the conference, as stated by the organizers, is to lend support to President Julius Bio's Gender Equality and Women Empowerment (GEWE) bill of 2021. Achieving gender equality hinges on the implementation of policies and legislation at all levels of government to empower women and girls. Unquestionably, the gender-sensitive policies already in place can play a pivotal role in closing the existing gender disparities.
