"FC Kallon to Clash with Dreams FC in CAF Confederation Cup Second Preliminary Round"

FC Kallon, a team from the Sierra Leone Premier League (SLPL), is gearing up for a showdown against Dreams FC, a Ghanaian club, in the Second Preliminary Round of the CAF Confederation Cup, scheduled to take place in Accra, Ghana on September 15. Subsequently, the Cavaliers will have the privilege of hosting Dreams FC at the Southern Arena on Saturday, September 30.

FC Kallon secured their spot in the second preliminary round by virtue of automatic qualification when their Nigerien counterpart, AS Douanes, withdrew from the competition. In the 2022-23 edition of the tournament, the Cavaliers were eliminated from the Second Preliminary Round by Future FC, an Egyptian team. Their impressive performance against Benin's Les Buffles du Borgou in the First Preliminary Round had raised high hopes for the Sierra Leonean team.

It is worth noting that, since the inception of the competition in 2004, no Sierra Leonean team has ever reached the group stage. However, FC Kallon remains optimistic about changing this narrative.

As they enter this crucial phase of the competition, FC Kallon will be missing their star striker, Alie Conteh, who departed for Europe at the conclusion of the season. Nevertheless, there is a possibility that Liberian striker, Emmanuel Gono, may be available for selection in the match against Dreams FC.
