"Sierra Leone Parliament Approves 29 Presidential Nominees for Key Positions"

On Thursday, July 27, 2023, the Sierra Leone Parliament granted approval to nearly 30 nominees selected by the President for various important positions. This decision came after a thorough deliberation on the Second Report of the Committee on Appointments and the Public Service.

The debate, presided over by the Majority Leader and Leader of Government Business, Honourable Mathew Sahr Nyuma, resulted in the successful approval of 29 presidential nominees. The Acting Speaker of Parliament, Honourable Sengepoh Thomas, extended his congratulations to the newly approved nominees and encouraged them to carry out their duties with utmost diligence.

Among those who received approval were notable individuals such as Chernor A. Bah, who will serve as the Minister of Information and Civic Education; Julius Daniel Mattai, appointed as the Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources; and Mohamed Rahman Swaray, entrusted with the position of Minister of Employment, Labour, and Social Security.
