NaCSA Management Visits Chief Minister Sengeh, Pledges to Align Activities With Government’s Big Five Agenda

Officials from the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) recently visited Sierra Leone's Chief Minister, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, to discuss strategies for aligning their initiatives with President Dr. Julius Maada Bio's key priorities known as the "Big Five Agenda." During the meeting, NaCSA's Commissioner, Ambassador Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina, emphasized their commitment to resolving outstanding matters within the organization to ensure effective delivery. Working closely with the National Civil Registration Authority (NCRA), NaCSA aims to assign national identification numbers (NIN) to all beneficiaries of their cash transfer program.

Ambassador Ndomahina reported that digital cash transfers had already commenced and that plans were underway to enhance the process. This improvement would allow NaCSA to accurately determine the number of beneficiaries participating in the program. He also highlighted the collaboration between NaCSA and the National Youth Commission in the employment of youth for NaCSA's projects.

In response, Dr. Sengeh expressed enthusiasm for NaCSA's determination to align their efforts with the government's "Big Five" agenda. This agenda encompasses initiatives such as "Feed Salone," nurturing skills for 21st-century industry through human capital development, the Youth Employment Scheme, enhancing the public service architecture, and promoting technology and infrastructure for economic growth.

Dr. Sengeh urged NaCSA's leadership to establish an employment registry to monitor their workforce over a five-year period. He pointed out that while President Bio had committed to generating 500,000 jobs, tracking this progress necessitated employment registries across all government entities. Dr. Sengeh offered his support, pledging regular communication and coordination with NaCSA's leadership. He invited them to schedule meetings every fortnight or as often as needed to foster collaboration and success.

Furthermore, Dr. Sengeh stressed the importance of ensuring that all beneficiaries of NaCSA's initiatives possessed NIN issued by the NCRA. He emphasized the need for digitalized support systems to enable the government to accurately monitor the number of beneficiaries benefitting from these programs.
