The Office of the President has designated Augustine Moses Tehguma Koroma as the newly appointed National Programme Coordinator of the Free Quality School Education initiative.
Koroma's appointment was officially disclosed in a communication from the Permanent Secretary to the President, dated Wednesday, September 13.
The communication stated, "I am writing to notify you that His Excellency the President, Brig. (Rtd) Julius Maada Bio, has taken the decision to appoint you as the National Programme Coordinator for the Free Quality School Education program within the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education."
Koroma is anticipated to assume his new responsibilities, contingent upon his written acceptance or declination of the appointment.
The Free Quality School Education Department is entrusted with the task of overseeing the enhancement of Sierra Leone's primary and secondary educational systems.
During the 2018 elections, President Bio campaigned on the platform of offering free education to primary and secondary school students. Over the past five years, his administration has made substantial financial investments in education, recognizing that the development of the nation's human capital is integral to their overall progress and prosperity.
