President Bio Appoints New Director of Technology Presidential Delivery Unit


Julius Maada Bio, the President of Sierra Leone, has designated Mohamed James as the recently appointed Director of Technology within the Presidential Delivery Unit.

James's selection for this role was conveyed through a letter from President Bio dated August 28, 2023. James holds a degree in computer science (BSc. Honors) from Njala University and has prior experience as a data scientist at DSTI. His primary interest lies in collaborating with specialists, citizens, and fellow technical personnel to create and implement various systems.

The communication specified that James's appointment would become effective upon his commencement of duties and required a written acknowledgement of his acceptance or rejection of the position.

The letter, bearing the signature of the President's Secretary, conveyed the following message: "I am writing to inform you that His Excellency the President, Brig. (Rtd.) Julius Maada Bio, has chosen you to serve as the Director of Technology within the Presidential Delivery Unit at the Office of the President."

"Further details regarding the specific terms and conditions of your appointment will be provided to you in the near future."

"I extend my congratulations on your new appointment and convey my best wishes for your success in this endeavour."

"Your official appointment will be in effect from the date of your commencement of duties."
