Mohamed K. Konneh, the Chief Electoral Commissioner of the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone (ECSL), expressed his profound gratitude to all political parties for their peaceful completion of the nomination process. On the last day of the nomination process for Presidential and Parliamentary candidates, the Commissioner thanked the political parties and candidates for their proactive participation in ensuring a peaceful conclusion to this stage. The commission will now proceed to other stages, with the aim of conducting a fully controlled and peaceful, free and fair June general election for all political parties and the nation as a whole.
It should be noted that May 9, 2023 is the final day for all political parties to submit their nominations, and the commissioner has emphasized that there will be no additional time or extensions granted after this deadline.
