Makeni Models Union Announces Fashion Runway Show

The Makeni Models Union has announced a fashion runway show called “New Skull versus Old Skull” with the theme “Passion Meets Experience.” The event will be held on May 12th at the Garden State Complex in Makeni.

The show will feature over 200 models, including those from neighboring districts. It will serve as a competition and learning platform for new models to interact with experienced models who have won numerous crowns and awards. The experienced models will guide the new models on the path to success.

Proceeds from the event will be used to implement the union’s structural plan, which includes acquiring a multi-purpose secretariat that will house a photo shoot studio, costume designers, a mini-bar and restaurant, and a conference room.

The Makeni Models Union is facing a challenge in securing sponsorship from individuals and corporate institutions. This may force the postponement of the three-day seminar scheduled for later this weekend. The union will provide an update via a press release if the situation persists.

In conclusion, Patrick Babah Koroma, the president of the Makeni Models Union, appealed to all Makeni residents to support the event and contribute to changing the narrative of the modeling industry. He said that modeling is no longer just for fun; it is also a means of making money. Makeni is the home of fashion, and the Bombali district has produced two Mr. Sierra Leone winners. Therefore, Koroma called on entertainment lovers to support the event with a fee of Le 20,000.
