Reports indicate that the 31 suspects who were arrested on suspicion of the murder of ASP Mathew Gbanya, the OSD North-East Regional Coordinator, have been released from police custody due to a lack of evidence.
A source at the regional crime office in Makeni reportedly disclosed this information to HOPE FM: 93.3.
However, the source also mentioned that eight new suspects, including two police personnel, have been arrested and taken to Freetown to assist in the ongoing investigation. Further details are yet to be revealed.
