CGG welcomed the public notice issued by the Sierra Leone Police on April 9th, 2023, and called on them to conduct a thorough and lawful investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice. The organization urged the police to avoid indiscriminate arrests and high-handedness during the investigation.
CGG extended its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and the Sierra Leone Police. They called on all stakeholders in Sierra Leone's democracy, including political parties, civil society organizations, and religious leaders, to work with the government and police to strengthen multi-stakeholder platforms to address issues related to peace and security in the country.
Finally, CGG called on all citizens to cooperate with the police in their investigation and report any suspicious behavior. They emphasized that every citizen has a responsibility to protect their communities by maintaining law and order.
