"Sierra Leone's President Bio and Hon Kandeh Yumkella Collaborate Ahead of Elections"

Ahead of the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections in Sierra Leone on June 24th, the current president, Dr. Julius Maada Bio, has made a significant move by collaborating with Hon Kandeh Yumkella, a prominent former member of the NGC.

President Bio announced on April 12th, 2023 that he and Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh held a meeting with Yumkella at the State House in Freetown. During their meeting, they discussed the various developmental and governance issues facing the nation. They exchanged ideas on how to promote their government's people-oriented policies. They agreed on the need to build a progressive alliance that would advance transformative development and strengthens national cohesion.

This decision by President Bio comes just a few weeks before the country's election and has garnered positive feedback from the people of Sierra Leone, including the Sierra Leone High Commission UK. They see it as a progressive move in the right direction and a necessary step for the advancement of the nation.

The Sierra Leone High Commission UK believes that Sierra Leone needs all progressives to come together on a single platform to push the country forward. They note that democracy is not about causing chaos from the fringes but building bridges to move the nation.

Hon Kandeh Yumkella, who had previously fought to eliminate the two major parties (APC and SLPP) that he believed had destroyed the nation, has now reached a crucial turning point in his country's political history. He prioritizes peace and has set aside personal ambitions for the betterment of Salone. He believes that putting Salone first is what matters the most, noting that it is only when the country is put first that it can be developed.
