The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) has announced the dates for the nomination of Local Councils across the country, as the June 24th, 2023 elections approach. The nomination process will last for 10 days, starting from Wednesday 19th April to 28th April 2023, in all ECSL Districts Offices. Sierra Leone has 22 Local Councils with different seats. Here are the 22 Local Councils and their number of seats:
- Kailahun District Council - 29 seats
- Kenema City Council - 19 seats
- Kenema District Council - 27 seats
- Kono New Sembehun City Council - 16 seats
- Kono District Council - 25 seats
- Bombali/Makeni City Council - 15 seats
- Bombali District Council - 21 seats
- Falaba District Council - 18 seats
- Koinadugu District Council - 18 seats
- Tonkolili District Council - 29 seats
- Kambia District Council - 23 seats
- Karene District Council - 21 seats
- Port Loko City Council - 13 seats
- Port District Council - 28 seats
- Bo City Council - 18 seats
- Bo District Council - 27 seats
- Bonthe Municipal Council - 11 seats
- Bonthe District Council - 19 seats
- Moyamba District Council - 22 seats
- Pujehun District Council - 24 seats
- Western Area Rural District Council - 30 seats
