The Democratic Union of Africa (DUA) Forum, scheduled to take place in Johannesburg, South Africa from April 26th to April 30th this year, has invited the National Grand Coalition (NGC) Party to attend. The forum will primarily focus on topics such as economic growth and development, political and social stability, and the creation of resilient state structures. The DUA has announced that its theme for this year is "Discovering New Dimensions of Cooperation: A Collective Responsibility Towards Development." The DUA is known to be an affiliate of the International Democratic Union (IDU), which has over 80 member parties from 60 countries.
The NGC Party has confirmed its participation and will be represented by its acting Chairman and Leader, Jesmed F. Suma, who was instrumental in the invitation. Suma emphasized that the NGC Party has consistently advocated for economic freedom and human rights issues, resulting in both local and international recognition since he took over the party's leadership.
In addition, the NGC Party has signed an alliance document with the incumbent Sierra Leone People's Party (SLPP) ahead of the country's upcoming multi-tier election this year. However, several members at the higher echelons of the party have resigned due to disagreements over the alliance. They believe that proponents of the alliance are pursuing personal gain rather than the good of the party or the nation and that the party has lost its direction.
