World Water Challenge 2025: International Competition Offers Cash Prizes and Trip to Korea

The Ministry of Environment of Korea and the Korea Water Forum are inviting individuals worldwide to participate in the World Water Challenge 2025, an international competition focused on innovative solutions to global water-related issues. The challenge offers participants the chance to win cash prizes, a trophy, and a fully funded trip to South Korea.

The competition aims to identify and promote practical, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly solutions to address pressing water challenges. Proposals are being accepted until July 25, 2025, and the final awards ceremony will be held in Daegu, Korea, on November 13-14, 2025, as part of the Korea International Water Week (KIWW).

Up to ten selected individuals with the most promising proposals will be invited to Korea for the final round of the competition. "THE BEST" Award: One winner will receive a cash prize of 10,000,000 KRW (approximately $7,500 USD) and an opportunity to speak at the World Water Challenge Hub (WWCH) in 2026. "OUTSTANDING" Awards: Two winners will each receive a cash prize of 3,000,000 KRW (approximately $2,250 USD).

Submitted ideas must have been developed within the past 10 years. Solutions must align with the designated categories of the WWCH 2025.
