The Vice President of Sierra Leone, Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, paid a visit to Fourah College on the morning of Wednesday, September 5th.
During his visit, the Vice President engaged in discussions with the faculty and administrators of Fourah Bay College (FBC).
Throughout the meeting, Jalloh emphasized the significance of the Education Development Fund, which provides crucial support to universities in addressing issues such as expanding student admissions. The Vice President also highlighted the government's dedication to education, making reference to the ongoing campus renovation projects.
Jalloh's visit to Sierra Leone's foremost higher education institution occurred following recent threats of a strike by lecturers, who demanded a salary increase from the government. Analysts have suggested that the Vice President's meeting with senior staff members at FBC could potentially serve as a constructive step toward resolving their differences.
