Sierra Leone’s outgoing Ambassador to China to Take up a New Role in Government


The departing Ambassador from Sierra Leone to the People's Republic of China, Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina, bids farewell to the Director General responsible for African Affairs at the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Following his reassignment by President Bio, Ndomahina will now assume the role of Commissioner for the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA).

During their meeting at the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Director General Wu Peng congratulated Ambassador Ndomahina on his new appointment and expressed his well wishes for his future responsibilities. Wu Peng acknowledged the positive working relationship with the outgoing Ambassador and commended him for his efforts in strengthening the ties between the two countries.

Wu Peng also recalled a significant meeting facilitated by Ambassador Ndomahina, which involved himself, President Bio, and First Lady Fatima Bio. He requested the new NaCSA Commissioner to convey his warm regards to President Bio and the First Lady, recognizing Ndomahina's expertise in Chinese policies and programs.

Director Wu Peng assured his continued support to Sierra Leone, emphasizing the bilateral and international partnership between the two nations.

Expressing his gratitude, Ambassador Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina conveyed his excitement and appreciation for working with Director Wu Peng and his team. He expressed his eagerness to collaborate further in his new role, highlighting his intention to apply the knowledge gained in China, particularly in poverty alleviation efforts.

On behalf of President Bio, the outgoing Ambassador extended his thanks to the Chinese Government for their assistance in Sierra Leone's development. He urged the Government of the People's Republic of China to engage in people-to-people exchanges with NaCSA, aiming to share experiences on China's successful efforts in lifting 800 million people out of poverty.

Director Wu Peng concluded by reminding the departing Ambassador that the task of poverty alleviation is an ongoing process in China, emphasizing the importance of agriculture in this endeavor. He commended President Bio's commitment to prioritizing agriculture and assured the Chinese Government's support for President Bio's Feed Salone program.
