"Sierra Leone's Health Minister Engages with WHO Delegation on Healthcare Initiatives"


Sierra Leone's Health and Sanitation Minister, Austin Demby, recently held discussions with a delegation from the World Health Organization (WHO) regarding emergency prevention, preparedness, and response efforts in the country.

In his pursuit of the "health for all" campaign within Sierra Leone, Minister Demby is dedicated to enhancing healthcare accessibility for every family and household. He has intensified healthcare engagement at various levels across the nation.

During these discussions with the WHO delegation, they also addressed the implementation of a new initiative aimed at bolstering "surge" capacity, building upon the UHPR program previously launched in Sierra Leone. Minister Demby highlighted the importance of health financing for managing pandemics and epidemics.

Furthermore, Minister Demby has called upon African leaders to work towards achieving Sustainable Development Goal 3.2, focusing on improving child survival rates not only in Sierra Leone but also across the entire continent.
