In an official statement, the Ministry of Employment, Labour, and Social Security has issued a cautionary notice regarding unauthorized employment agencies involved in unlawful practices related to the transportation of individuals to Saudi Arabia.
The Ministry's announcement aligns with the government's commitment to ensuring fair and lawful employment opportunities for the citizens of Sierra Leone. Notably, in June 2022, the Ministry of Employment, Labour, and Social Security entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Saudi Arabian government, establishing a framework for the recruitment of migrant workers from Sierra Leone to Saudi Arabia.
Furthermore, the Ministry disclosed that the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Guinea has meticulously evaluated and granted accreditation to four licensed private employment agencies for the purpose of recruiting migrant workers. Additionally, three medical facilities have received accreditation for conducting medical examinations on prospective candidates destined for employment within the Gulf Health Council (GHC). These accredited entities are as follows:
- SOS Global Investments SL
- Human Resources Global Consultancy SL Ltd
- Suma’s Travel Consultancy
- Seasons SL Ltd
The accredited medical centres are:
- Ramsey Medical Laboratories
- Ecomed Medical Centre
- Shuman Hospitals
