President Julius Maada Bio has formally delivered a post-election document by the Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion (ICPNC) subsequent to their consultation with political factions to investigate the events of the June 24th, 2023 elections in Sierra Leone.
President Julius Maada Bio has made a commitment to review the document meticulously and take appropriate actions by executing the suggestions and obligations presented within the document.
He expressed his contentment with receiving the document, emphasizing his intention to thoroughly peruse it and respond in accordance. He further noted that the commission plays a pivotal role in addressing grievances, particularly in a democratic nation.
In the course of presenting the document, the chairman of ICPNC, Rev. Shodankeh Johnson, conveyed that the commission had been granted substantial autonomy to carry out their tasks. He affirmed the commission's dedication to sustaining both peace and national unity within the country.
