The Chief Coordinator of the pre-season competition for women's football club owners, Mahmoud Kargbo, has officially announced that a total of eight teams, including a pair of international squads, are all set to vie for this year's title. The ultimate victor will be rewarded with a substantial prize of 20 Million Old Leones.
Kargbo has confirmed that the triumphant team in the 2023 pre-season tournament for female football club owners will be awarded a generous sum of Twenty Thousand Leones (NLe 20,000). This gracious donation has been pledged by Haja Ramatulai Kamara, a distinguished member of the Executive Committee of the Sierra Leone Football Association and the Head of Female Football.
The forthcoming tournament is scheduled to commence on September 2nd. In the opening match at 2:30 p.m., Ram K Football Club will be pitted against Stages Queens. Following this, at 4:30 p.m., Mogbwemo Queens FC will face off against Malema Queens FC. All of these exciting clashes are slated to unfold at the Kenema City field.
Kargbo has divulged that the eight participating teams have been allocated to two distinct groups as outlined below:
Group A:
1. Stages Queens from Liberia
2. Mogbwemo Queens FC, the reigning champions of the Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League
3. Malema Queens
4. Ram K FC
Group B:
1. Club Olympique de Ratoma (C.O.R) from Guinea
2. Kahunla Queens FC, the runner-up in the inaugural Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League
3. FC Kallon Female
4. Tulane Queens
