Appointed by President Dr. Julius Maada Bio on July 15, 2023, Madam Augusta James Teima is the first woman to hold the position of Sports Minister in Sierra Leone since the advent of multi-party democracy.
Notably, Madam Teima brings extensive experience to her new role, serving as the treasurer of the Sierra Leone Athletics Association and holding a position as a lecturer at Milton Margai University.
Taking the reins from Ibrahim Nylenkeh, who served as Minister of Sports during President Bio's first term, Madam Teima is poised to lead the way in fostering positive change and development within the realm of sports in the country.
