Sierra Leone President Inaugurates Ultra-Modern INTEGRITY HOUSE in Anti-Corruption Commission's Fight Against Corruption


On June 5, 2023, Julius Maada Bio, the President of Sierra Leone, inaugurated the state-of-the-art INTEGRITY HOUSE of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in Freetown's Tower Hill area.

During his speech, President Bio reiterated the government's unwavering commitment and support in the battle against corruption in Sierra Leone. He emphasized that his administration has taken a strong stance on combating corruption since assuming office five years ago, which was a key promise in his Manifesto.

The remarkable improvement in local and international corruption indexes and rankings over the past five years is a testament to the government's dedication to the national anti-corruption campaign, as highlighted by President Bio.

Acknowledging the global financial challenges, President Bio underscored that his government continued to prioritize and contribute to the construction of the ACC building.

Francis Ben Kaifala Esq., the Commissioner of ACC, expressed gratitude to President Bio and the government for their substantial financial and moral support over the past five years, emphasizing that the ACC building was entirely funded by the government of Sierra Leone. He acknowledged the exceptional presidential and political will and support that were instrumental in achieving their accomplishments.

Dr. Sao-Kpato Hannah Isata Max-Kyne, the Commissioner of the National Action for Social Action (NaCSA) and Chairman of the ceremony praised the ACC for its relentless efforts in combating corruption and commended the government for its consistent and unwavering support in addressing corruption issues within the public sector.

In his welcome statement, Augustine Foday-Ngobie, the Deputy Commissioner of ACC, congratulated the people of Sierra Leone for their hard work in the fight against corruption, which ultimately led to the construction of the impressive INTEGRITY HOUSE. He also expressed gratitude to President Bio and his government for their continuous support in combating corruption.

The newly inaugurated INTEGRITY HOUSE, a modern architectural marvel, is located in front of the House of Parliament and adjacent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Tower Hill, Freetown.
