In a show of solidarity with Palestine, a large gathering of pro-Palestinian demonstrators assembled outside the Moroccan parliament on Tuesday. Their purpose was to voice their opposition to the visit of Amir Ohana, the Speaker of the Israeli Knesset.
The protesters were resolute in their rejection of the recent establishment of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Israel, expressing their discontent through chants and slogans calling for the liberation of Palestine.
Abdelhamid Amine, a member of the Moroccan Front in support of Palestine and against normalization, conveyed their sentiments, stating, "We refuse to accept the visit of the Israeli Parliament's leader without consequence, especially considering the current extreme right-wing composition of the Israeli Parliament, which is dominated by fascists. It is disheartening to witness their reception by the Moroccan Parliament."
Despite the widespread opposition from civil society and human rights organizations in Morocco, the Israeli speaker proceeded with his visit to the North African country on Tuesday. During his visit, he advocated for the strengthening of bilateral ties between Israel and Morocco.
