"Inter Milan Plans to Secure Romelu Lukaku on Permanent Deal and Chelsea Negotiations Await"

Inter Milan is eager to secure Romelu Lukaku's permanent transfer to San Siro and intends to initiate discussions with Chelsea following the Champions League Final. Lukaku has played a crucial role for Inter this season, aiding them in their Coppa Italia victory and guiding them to the UEFA Champions League final.

Although Lukaku was acquired by Chelsea for a hefty £100 million fee in 2021, he failed to make a significant impact in his debut season, resulting in his loan return to his former club. While his loan spell at Inter Milan has concluded, the Belgian striker is set to return to Stamford Bridge. However, Inter Milan is open to negotiating a permanent deal with Chelsea.

Giuseppe Marotta, the chief executive of Inter, praised Lukaku for his outstanding performances and professionalism in an interview with UK media reported by the Daily Mail. Marotta stated, "Romelu Lukaku is not only a talented player but also a consummate professional. As you know, he is currently on loan with Inter. That loan ends on June 30, and he will go back to Chelsea. We are unsure about his future, but we will discuss it with Chelsea in due course."

Lukaku encountered a difficult start to the season due to a lengthy injury, which limited his appearances to just five matches. However, upon his return from injury, he struggled to secure a spot in the starting lineup but later showcased his quality by scoring nine goals in his last 16 games of the season.

Meanwhile, Chelsea is actively seeking to offload players as they make room for incoming signings and squad rebuilding under their newly appointed manager, Mauricio Pochettino. Players such as Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, N'Golo Kante, and others are reportedly on the verge of departing Stamford Bridge. Kante has already completed his move to Al Ittihad, while Kovacic and Mount are nearing transfers to Manchester City and Manchester United, respectively.
