On Monday, the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal began proceedings in Abuja to consider challenges to the outcome of the 2023 presidential election. Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) are challenging the victory of Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Kenneth Okonkwo, a spokesperson for the LP, announced via Twitter that the tribunal has adjourned its sitting to Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at 2 pm. The adjournment will provide the tribunal with additional time to review the evidence and arguments presented before making a final determination.
