On Friday, May 5th, 2023, Kadiatu Bendu was killed by lightning in Madina Worreh Grass Field Tombo, Sierra Leone. Reports indicate that Kadiatu and her elder brother, Mustapha Demby, were sitting under a tree near their house when it began to rain around 2:30 pm.
As the thunder grew more intense, sudden lightning struck Kadiatu, causing panic among those present. They quickly ran indoors for shelter. Unfortunately, Kadiatu did not survive the strike.
The incident has been reported to the Sierra Leone police. Lightning strikes are not uncommon in Sierra Leone during the rainy season, and it's important for people to take necessary precautions to avoid such tragic incidents.
