Standard-Times Newspaper Writes Letter to President Bio Alleging Re-Use of Unprinted Language by Financial Secretary Sahr Jusu Against Media Institution

In a letter addressed to President Bio, Standard-Times newspaper commended his office for improving the media landscape and creating a conducive atmosphere for objective and impartial reporting in the country. However, the newspaper expressed concern that some officials within the government, including the current Financial Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Sahr Jusu, are still working to destroy the progress made.

According to Standard-Times, on April 1st, 2023, Sahr Jusu used unprinted language against the Editor and team of the newspaper during a phone conversation. When Standard-Times attempted to inform the Editor, they found out that the number given to their colleague had been discontinued. Sahr Jusu later used an Africell number the next morning to direct more unprinted language and "MAMMY CURSE" towards the Editor and team.

Standard-Times sees this as a violation of their dignity and rights, as well as an attack on the media. They are appealing to President Bio's office for a speedy investigation into the matter to prevent others from using the same offensive language.
