Man Claims Responsibility for the Killing of ASP Gbanya.

Mr. Northernan has taken responsibility, along with several others, for the killing of ASP Mathew Moiwah Gbanya, also known as "Boyka," in Makeni, Northern Sierra Leone on Saturday, April 8th, 2023.

A video has been circulating on social media in which the speaker claims responsibility for the murder of a police officer and warns that more deaths will follow. The individual, known as Mr. Nothernan, alleges that the late officer was involved in the killing of civilians during the August 10th unrest in Sierra Leone. He further declares his intention to capture the current Minister of State for the Northern Region, Abu-Abu.

In the video, Mr. Nothernan identifies himself as an advocate and addresses the citizens of Sierra Leone and particularly those in the Northern Region. He asserts that those responsible for taking innocent lives will be held accountable with their own lives. He claims that ASP Gbanya, the police officer who was recently killed, was just the beginning of their plans.

According to Mr. Nothernan, ASP Gbanya was among those who participated in the killing of people in Makeni during the August 8-10 unrest this year. He accuses the police officer and others of targeting individuals who were exercising their right to free speech. The speaker warns Abu-Abu that he is next on their list, but acknowledges that the minister has sought protection in Bo. He claims to have obtained all of Abu-Abu's details and warns that his group will target him soon.

Mr. Nothernan also asserts that his group has obtained the names and addresses of police and military officers and may target them one by one. He promises that they may kill without leaving any evidence. The speaker made the video to clarify the circumstances surrounding the police officer's recent killing in Makeni.
