After criticizing President Julius Maada Bio and his policies during his first term, popular Sierra Leonean star Zainab Sheriff was labeled as a "quirky, disgusting, village clown and nonentity" in an open letter by veteran journalist and publisher of the Global Times Newspaper, Sorie Fofana.
Fofana accused Sheriff of being dishonest, unpatriotic, and rude towards the country and President Bio, adding that her hatred for the President stems from her friend, the main opposition Presidential candidate, Dr. Samura Kamara, being defeated by Bio twice in 2018.
Fofana claimed that Sheriff has been unable to accept Bio as the legitimate leader of Sierra Leone since 2018, which has led her to deceit and untruthfulness. He also asserted that the people of Kabala, the Sheriff's ancestral home, appreciate Bio and his policies, such as the free education program and rural electrification project.
Finally, Fofana criticized Dr. Samura Kamara, the main opposition APC Presidential Candidate, stating that he is not fit to govern the country.
