Four Children Drown at Kailondo Beach in Kenema District

     The Regional Headquarters in Kenema is investigating the drowning of four children at Kailondo Beach in Nongowa Chiefdom Kenema district. The deceased children were identified as Prince Kpakra and Lahai Mansaray from W Drive Murray Town section in Kenema, and Ibrahim Jalloh and Abubakar Bah from Nyandeyama Section.

Sergeant 11254 Teresa Lahai, who is attached to the Media unit of the Police Division in Kenema, reported that the children went to the beach on Easter Sunday and joined their peers in the river. However, by the end of the day, four children were missing. The matter was reported to the police, and the bodies were later discovered and buried by their parents. Sergeant Lahai noted that drowning incidents are infrequent in the district.
