Sellas Tetteh, a former coach of the Black Stars and Black Satellites, received a generous donation of Fifty Thousand Cedis (GHS50,000.0) from the Ghana Football Association Foundation. The donation was presented to Tetteh at his residence in Ghana, and he expressed his gratitude towards both the GFA and its Foundation for their kind gesture.
Kurt Edwin Simon-Okraku, the President of the Ghana Football Association, explained that the establishment of the Foundation was driven by the current leadership's commitment to support the welfare of former footballers who may be in need due to old age, injury, ill-health, or other challenging circumstances. The visit by Sellas Tetteh was the first activity of the GFA Foundation, and he was touched by the generosity of the organization.
Sellas Tetteh also expressed his appreciation for the personal sponsorship he received from the President for the CAF License A Refresher Course for coaches at the Ghana Centre of Excellence in 2021. He acknowledged the benevolence of Ghanaians towards him since his retirement from active coaching, and he has a successful coaching career. He led Ghana to win the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt, making them the first African team to win the competition. He was also named the CAF coach of the year in 2009 and has coached for the senior national teams of Rwanda and Sierra Leone.
