Electoral Commission engages partners on Voters Registration Cards ahead of General Elections in Sierra Leone


  On April 13, 2023, the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) held a meeting with partners, including Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), to discuss issues related to the Voters Registration Cards for the upcoming June 24 general elections.

The partners were briefed on the Paramount Chief Members of Parliament (PCMP) nomination process and the steps the commission has taken to address concerns about the security of the cards.

The aim of the meeting was to ensure a credible and peaceful election. Edmond Alpha, the commissioner for East, chaired the meeting.

The Chief Electoral Commissioner, Mohamed K. Konneh, also spoke to the Youth Service Corps (NYC) at the commission's conference hall, urging them to cooperate fully in promoting peace during the election process. He emphasized their vital role in ensuring sustainable peace in the country.
