ECSL Comment on the Voter Registration Card Distribution

On April 7th, 2023, the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone announced that the distribution of voter registration cards had begun in 3,630 registration centers across the country, and the general public was notified accordingly.

According to the Press Release, the ECSL noted that the process has been relatively peaceful, with a high turnout in most centers, particularly in urban areas. The Commission also urged registered voters to come out and collect their voter registration cards within the ten-day exercise ending on April 16, 2023. The ECSL Situation Room is available and promptly addresses issues as they arise, and the public can contact them on 838 across all mobile networks for inquiries.

The release added that the public should exercise patience and restraint during the exercise. Additionally, the ECSL intends to hold a press conference next week to update the public on the progress of the card distribution process.
