Gender-based violence is a widespread problem that needs to be addressed. Everyone should be worried about it and take action to stop it.

Rape and other types of abuse against women and girls should always be opposed by everyone, regardless matter whether the victim is a close friend or family member. When such situations occur, we must promise never to keep them a secret and that those responsible will face severe punishment if proved guilty.

Hawawa recognized the Rainbow Initiative for its remarkable work over the years in Sierra Leone, where it has offered free medical care and psychosocial assistance to victims of rape for more than 20 years.

Hawawa encouraged everyone to participate in their SURVIVOR WALK scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 3, 2022 in order to continue the fight against rape and gender-based violence as the organization honored the 16 days of GBV activism in Sierra Leone.

Rainbow Initiative T-shirts are offered for sale at Nle 130 in support of this initiative and to help collect money for its intended purpose. Hawawa, who is known for her generosity, announced that she will give away 10 prizes to the first 10 people to email her and visit her store, Hawawa Boutique, at 68 Pademba Road in Freetown.
