ASEF Public Diplomacy Training Program in Singapore Announces Fully Funded 2025 Edition

Applications are now being accepted for the 13th ASEF Public Diplomacy Training Program (ASEFPDT13), a hybrid initiative combining virtual learning with an intensive in-person training session in Singapore. This fully funded program aims to enhance the public diplomacy skills of early to mid-career professionals working in Asia-Europe relations.

Program Overview

The online training component will run from September 15 to October 20, 2025, allowing participants to engage from their home countries. Successful completion of the virtual course qualifies participants for a fully funded, five-day training program in Singapore, scheduled from December 1-5, 2025. The program is a collaborative effort between the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), Diplo Foundation, and the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Virtual Learning Experience

The virtual learning phase emphasizes interaction and collaboration between participants and trainers. The curriculum is designed to be flexible, allowing participants to complete most activities at their own pace. A key element is a weekly one-hour live class meeting, fostering real-time engagement and discussion.

This year's program will incorporate AI-assisted tools relevant to public diplomacy, equipping participants with cutting-edge techniques for crafting effective communication strategies. The online course focuses on enhancing participants’ skills in shaping public opinion regarding Asia-Europe relations.

In-Person Training in Singapore

The in-person component in Singapore offers a practical, immersive experience. Participants will analyze case studies, design strategic campaigns, and refine their knowledge through interaction with professional trainers. The program also includes a cultural tour, providing insights into Singaporean culture and history.
