President Bio Commemorates International Literacy Day 2023


President Bio shared his appreciation for International Literacy Day 2023 on his social media profiles. He conveyed, "Today, as we mark International Literacy Day 2023 with the theme: 'Advancing Literacy for a World in Transformation: Constructing the Foundation for Sustainable and Harmonious Societies,' I am brimming with a profound sense of pride and optimism for our nation."

He proceeded to emphasize the significance of literacy, stating, "Literacy stands as the cornerstone upon which we erect a more promising tomorrow, and as we observe Literacy Day, we must contemplate the strides we've taken and the path we must continue to follow."

President Bio also highlighted his administration's dedication to literacy, remarking, "Over the past five years, we have laid robust foundations and pillars for Sierra Leone's future, with substantial investments in education, underpinned by an ethos of comprehensive inclusion."

He further touched on the role of education, asserting, "Education is an inherent human right, and literacy serves as its fundamental underpinning. It is the key that unlocks access to knowledge, empowerment, and opportunities.
