"Fatal Shooting Incident Unfolds in Moyiba Community, Freetown Amidst Heightened Security"

A recent incident has been reported in Moyiba Community, located in the Kissy area to the east of Freetown, the capital city. According to eyewitnesses, a tragic incident occurred where a man, identified as Mr. Kallon, a disabled top-up seller and local businessman, lost his life. Witnesses claim that this unfortunate event unfolded when armed military and police personnel entered the community and discharged their firearms, resulting in Mr. Kallon's fatal shooting.

At this time, the local authorities, specifically the police, have not issued an official statement or confirmation regarding the incident. However, videos circulating on social media depict a lifeless body lying in a pool of blood, accompanied by two spent bullet casings.

It is worth noting that Freetown has been relatively peaceful, despite the anticipation of a planned protest scheduled for Monday, September 11. Although heightened security measures were in place throughout the city, many shop owners and small-scale traders expressed apprehension about opening their businesses.

Taking lessons from past incidents, security forces maintained a significant presence not only in Kissy but also in other parts of eastern Freetown and the surrounding areas.

Additionally, there are unverified reports indicating the sound of gunshots in the Rogbangba area of the Western Rural District, adding to the concerns regarding the overall security situation.
