Sierra Leone's President, Julius Maada Bio, has selected Honorable Alusine Kanneh to assume the role of the nation's latest Chief Immigration Officer. Kanneh, a former deputy whip of Sierra Leone's Parliament, has been designated as the Chief Immigration Officer in a letter dated August 25, 2023. He possesses a decade's worth of experience in the realm of immigration affairs and has also served as the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Internal Affairs.
According to a missive endorsed by the President's Secretary, "I am writing to notify you that His Excellency the President, Brigadier (Rtd) Julius Maada Bio, has found it agreeable to appoint you as the Chief Immigration Officer. The detailed terms and conditions pertaining to your appointment will be communicated to you in the near future. I extend my congratulations on your appointment and wish you success in this endeavour."
Upon assuming his position, Kanneh will succeed the current Chief Immigration Officer, Andrew J. Kaikai.
