Deputy Ministers Take Oath of Office Before Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio, Thank Him for Reposing Confidence in Young People

 


At a brief swearing-in ceremony presided over by President Dr. Julius Maada Bio, four deputy ministers officially assumed their roles, expressing gratitude for the president's trust in the capabilities of young individuals, especially women.

The appointees encompassed Yema Mimi Soba-Stephens, Deputy Minister of Environment and Climate Change; Mohamed Haji-Kella, Deputy Minister of Social Welfare; Moriba Koroma, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs; and Umaru Napoleon Koroma Esq., Deputy Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources.

Moriba Koroma, speaking on behalf of his colleagues, extended appreciation to President Bio for his deliberate selection of young talents in alignment with his vision. He acknowledged the progress achieved during the president's initial term and pledged their commitment to achieving even more. He recounted his experience from six years prior when, as the youngest contender, President Bio had shown strong support during his bid for the Secretary-General position of the Sierra Leone People’s Party, highlighting the president's affinity for collaborating with the youth.

Reflecting on President Bio's vision for the nation, Moriba Koroma emphasized the responsibility bestowed upon them to serve the populace diligently and meet the president's expectations.

President Bio responded by reminding the deputy ministers of their significant role in delivering meaningful outcomes, urging them to utilize their time effectively in their respective ministries to establish a lasting impact. He emphasized the need for proactive engagement, encouraging innovative proposals that would contribute to the country's advancement.

President Bio underscored the shared duty among Sierra Leonean citizens to rectify their country's condition and restore its former grandeur. He assured the deputy ministers of his receptiveness to their constructive ideas, expressing readiness to support those that hold merit.
