On Wednesday, July 19, 2023, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) organized a mid-year review meeting in Sierra Leone with its governance cluster partners. The purpose of this gathering was to assess the progress made thus far and engage in strategic discussions concerning the upcoming months.
Sayed Sahibzada, the deputy representative of UNDP, highlighted the significance of effective collaboration among all partners in bringing about positive transformations in the lives of Sierra Leoneans. He urged them to maintain an unwavering dedication to their mission.
In recent times, the UNDP, in collaboration with UN Peacebuilding and Global Namiti, has actively engaged key stakeholders to foster responsible land acquisition practices in Sierra Leone. As part of their efforts, they have been diligently working on developing a comprehensive checklist for land acquisition.
Through these initiatives, the UNDP aims to bolster governance practices and facilitate sustainable development in Sierra Leone.
