The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is scheduled to announce its findings today, on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, regarding the numerous serious allegations made against Dr. Philip Kanu, the Vice-Chancellor and Principal of Milton Margai Technical University.
These allegations were brought against Dr. Kanu by former staff members of the university who were disciplined for engaging in sexual harassment of female students in November 2022.
Initially, Dr. Kanu was suspended without investigation by Gibril Cooper, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education. However, he was later reinstated.
During the presentation, the ACC will also share the results of the review conducted on the university's systems and procedures.
However, the Vice-Chancellor and Principal have been specifically instructed not to attend the ceremony, as it will be streamed live to ensure accessibility for the general public.
