In the wake of the unfortunate demise of Nahum Khadi, the former President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), on June 13, 2023, the SLFA's Management and staff have issued a statement expressing their profound grief.
The SLFA conveyed their sorrow over the passing of the Former President and also shed light on some of the significant contributions made by Khadi during his tenure as the head of the SLFA.
"Prior to assuming the role of SLFA President in 2004, Khadi had a remarkable career as a player for the Sierra Leone National football team, Leone Stars, during the 1960s and 1970s. He also represented numerous prominent local football clubs, including two of the country's largest and most beloved teams, East End Lions and Mighty Blackpool," stated the SLFA.
The association further emphasized the lasting impact Khadi had on Sierra Leone football, both as a player and as a football administrator. They acknowledged his invaluable contributions to the sport and expressed gratitude for his dedicated service.
"His indelible mark on Sierra Leone Football, as both a player and a football administrator, will always be cherished," the statement quoted.
In conclusion, the SLFA extended their deepest condolences, on behalf of President Thomas Daddy Brima, the Executive Committee, and the General Secretariat, to the Khadi family and friends. They wished them solace, strength, and an abundance of love during this time of sorrow.
