A study was conducted with a sample size of 24 young adults from New York City to explore the impact of weed and alcohol on sexual experiences. However, due to the small sample size, the findings may not be conclusive.
Regarding orgasm, alcohol was found to heighten sexual experiences, while weed created a more sensual, slow, and loving experience. While some individuals reported more intense orgasms when high on weed, others found it challenging to achieve orgasm. Similarly, some experienced delayed or prolonged orgasms when drinking alcohol, while others reported faster orgasms when intoxicated.
Both alcohol and weed can affect sexual performance, with drunkenness causing problems such as erectile dysfunction, vaginal dryness, and even sleeping during sex. Although some weed users claimed a negative impact on their sexual performance, it was primarily psychological. In contrast, drunk individuals often feel numb during sex, while those high on weed tend to experience heightened sensations.
Participants reported feeling more confident and sexy with their bodies when using both alcohol and weed, although this was mentioned more frequently with alcohol. Furthermore, alcohol was linked to making regretful sexual choices, while weed users were more likely to engage in sexual activity with known individuals.
It is crucial to note that consuming alcohol can lead to fatal mistakes, such as unprotected sex, recording, or sharing sexual content, which can result in shame and other negative outcomes.
Finally, both alcohol and weed can affect the duration of sexual encounters, with participants reporting that sex tends to last longer when intoxicated. However, everyone's reaction to alcohol and weed varies.
