AdvocAid has reported that Zainab Sheriff, a renowned entertainer, and entrepreneur, is currently being held in police custody at the CID. She spent the night there, which contradicts earlier reports stating that she had been released.
It has also been disclosed that Zainab's Facebook account has been hacked, and AdvocAid is calling on the police to ensure that her rights are respected. On April 18, 2023, Zainab Sheriff was allegedly detained at the Female Correctional Centre in the Special Court Building, although the reason for her arrest remains unclear.
