On April 23, 2023, President Bio signed the Progressive Alliance for Transformational Development with Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella, the leader of the opposition party National Grand Coalition (NGC). The agreement aims to promote sustainable peace, development, and knowledge sharing for the betterment of Sierra Leone. President Bio emphasized that the future of Sierra Leone depends on all of its citizens. He also paid tribute to the SLPP's founding fathers and their vision for a unified country. If they were alive today, he believed they would support the alliance's focus on putting Sierra Leone first.
